“Connections” is the theme of this year’s Seniors Week, which is an important time to acknowledge the valuable contribution older Tasmanians make to our state.
We know that as active participants in the workforce, volunteers, carers, parents and grandparents, older Tasmanians contribute significantly to our future.
This Seniors Week 2019 program includes many activities aimed at encouraging older Tasmanians to lead active lives in which they can keep discovering and learning together.
The week is supported by the Hodgman majority Liberal Government’s Ageing Action Plan 2017-2022, aimed at helping Tasmanians maintain their health, increase their participation and feel secure as they age.
It’s a comprehensive plan informed by the voices of older Tasmanians, which encourages Tasmanians to continue to belong, be involved, learn and have purpose.
