Shoalwater man charged with 32 offences

Officers from the State Security Investigations Group (SSIG) have charged a man as a result of their investigation into suspicious packages and or letters being sent to various Government locations.

It is alleged on 28 occasions the man sent items containing faecal matter and/or dead mice via Australia Post to various Government agencies between August and December 2021. Some of the agencies were:-

• Rockingham Police station

• Fines Enforcement Registry

• Police Headquarters

• Office of the Minister for Police

On 14 December 2021, SSIG officers with the assistance of TRG officers, executed a search warrant on a residence in Shoalwater where police located a hydroponic cannabis setup with various plants and seedlings and two gel blasters.

The 55-year-old man from Shoalwater has been charged with:-

• 28 counts of Endanger Life, Health or Safety of a Person;

• One count of Cultivate a Prohibited Plant with Intent to Sell or Supply;

• One count of Possession of Prohibited Drugs with intent to Sell or Supply;

• One count Possessed a Prohibited Weapon; and

• One count of Possessed any Drug Paraphernalia in or which there was a Prohibited Drug or Plant.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 15 December 2021.
