COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,039 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 22,943 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 50s and a woman in her 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.

There are 240 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including nine people in ICU, with two people ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 107 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 70 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 63 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found 68.6% of samples analysed were BA.2, 11.7% of samples analysed were BA.4 and 12.6% of samples analysed were BA.5.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 4,694 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 33.9% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,463 PCR tests were positive, while 1,576 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
