There have been 5,679 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 34,428 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm two women in their 90s, one man in his 60s, one man in his 70s and two men in their 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19 passed away in metropolitan Adelaide.
There are 246 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 20 people in ICU and eight requiring a ventilator.
Of those hospitalised, 138 people are fully vaccinated, 23 are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 85 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, 60 cases from yesterday have been removed from the total number of cases.

Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 81% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

Yesterday, 24,796 people received a PCR test in South Australia, a 23.6% increase on the previous 24 hours.
Vaccination update
Currently 93.3% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine, 89.5% have received their second dose and there were 17,172 booster shots given yesterday bringing the total booster shots to 312,284.
