COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,079 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 32,530 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 80s and a man in his 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19 have passed away.

There are 285 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 24 people in ICU and five requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 151 people are fully vaccinated, 43 are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 91 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants

Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 81% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

Yesterday, 1,384,615 check-ins were made using the COVID Safe Check in app.

COVID testing

Yesterday, 13,319 people received a PCR test in South Australia, a 10.4% decrease on the previous 24 hours.

Vaccination update

Currently 93.5% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine, 89.7% have received their second dose and there were 23,397 booster shots given yesterday bringing the total booster shots to 369,148.
