COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,847 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 16,127 active cases in South Australia.

There are 235 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU, with one person ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 128 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 95 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 12 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling from 1 to 21 June has found 74.6% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 8,879 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 38.9% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,520 PCR tests were positive, while 1,327 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 95.9% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.9% havereceived their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 73.2% ofeligible South Australiansand 68.7% of South Australians aged 16+.
