COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,413 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 17,946 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm three women in their 80s, two men in their 70s and a man in his 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 226 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU, with one person ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 125 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 94 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and seven have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling from 1 to 21 June has found 74.6% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 5,567 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 21.7% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,169 PCR tests were positive, while 1,244 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
