COVID Cases in SA
There have been 2,689 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 19,026 active cases in South Australia.
There are 232 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including six people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 118 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 90 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 24 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling from 1 to 18 May has found 98.5% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 7,461 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 14.5% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,326 PCR tests were positive, while 1,363 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95.8% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.8% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 72.7% of eligible South Australians and 67.4% of South Australians aged 16+.
