COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,141 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 18,745 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 70s who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.

There are 234 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 10 people in ICU, with one person ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 131 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 100 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and three have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling from 1 to 21 June has found 74.6% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 5,824 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 8.7% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,400 PCR tests were positive, while 1,741 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 95.9% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.9% havereceived their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 73.4% ofeligible South Australiansand 68.9% of South Australians aged 16+.
