  • Festival celebrates the multicultural South-West
  • Festival supported by the McGowan Government with $39,000
  • The annual Act-Belong-Commit South West Multicultural Festival returns to Bunbury this weekend, bringing with it a smorgasbord of activities, cultural performances, music, dancing and cuisines from across the globe.

Hosted by the Bunbury Multicultural Group, the festival attracts crowds of up to 5,000 people and is the biggest cultural festival on the South-West calendar.

This year’s festival includes an experience zone that offers lessons in Sikh turban wrapping, Sri Lankan Sinhala dance workshops and Tai Kwon Do.

The event culminates in a multicultural night under the stars with Latin-fusion music and dance.

Entry is free to this family friendly event held at Bicentennial Square and Graham Bricknell Music Shell tomorrow (February 23) from 3pm to 9pm.

The South West Multicultural Festival has been funded by the State Government with $5,000 from the Office of Multicultural Interests, $20,000 from Lotterywest, and $14,000 from Healthway.
