Southern suburbs fires, South Australia

Police are investigating two suspicious fires in the southern suburbs overnight.

Just before 10pm last night (8 June), emergency services were called to Herrings Lane, Happy Valley after reports that a Molotov cocktail had been thrown at a house which subsequently sparked a fire.

CFS quickly extinguished the blaze which caused minor damage to the front premises. Luckily, the occupants weren’t injured.

Then just before 1.30am this morning (9 June), emergency services were called to a home on Valleyfair Road, Hackham West after reports a gold Holden sedan was on fire in the driveway.

MFS extinguished the fire which caused significant damage to the vehicle. Crime scene attended and located a Molotov cocktail near the vehicle which is believed to have started the fire.

Southern District CIB is investigating both fires and is investigating if there are any links to the two incidents.
