Starting Kindergarten Journey

Attending a local kindergarten in an inclusive environment centered around play-based learning is a great way for three and four-year-old children to get ready for school.

The multi-step central registration process for 2025 enrolment starts now, with registration opening 1 May. The first step is to find up to three kindergartens and register your child by 28 June.

Council’s early years team will place your child into a service. Offers start to be issued to families from late July. Once the place is accepted, families will finalise the enrolment directly with the kindergarten, choosing days and times to attend. Kindergarten registration is free.

If your child was born between January and April 2022, you can choose to start 3-year-old kindergarten in 2025 or 2026.
