All good things must come to an end! We’ve now arrived at the end of Farm Safety Week 2019.
This week, we broke with tradition by exploring a wide range of farm safety issues as opposed to a single, central theme.
Looking at on-farm dangers and risk-factors, we explored hazards which arise in relation to machinery and farm tech, telecommunications black spots, quad bikes, chemicals, kids on farms and mental health. It’s a big list, but by no means is it exhaustive. If you ever have questions about these or any other safety areas on-farm contact Farmsafe or your relevant State agriculture or commodity body.
Overall, we were thrilled with the extent to which individual farmers, communities and stakeholders engaged with us, and sought to promote Farm Safety Week in so many innovative and exciting ways.
Just because this week has drawn to a successful close, it doesn’t mean that we’re going to stop working towards safer farms or stop fighting for Aussie farmers’ right to a safer life and livelihood.
On the contrary, Farmsafe Australia has big plans for the future. Over the next few months, we intend to substantially increase our community presence and expand the availability of our abundant safety resources.
Our online media will take on a fresh new look, and we will seek a deeper and more frequent engagement with our partners and member to help deliver on bold new safety outcomes for Australian farmers.
