Stolen car crashes at Kilburn

A teen has been arrested and police are hunting for two others after a stolen car crashed at Blair Athol overnight.

About 11.20pm Wednesday 22 March police were patrolling on Prospect Road when the observed a Subaru Forester driving erratically. Patrols didn’t pursue the car but followed it from a distance as it took off into the back streets of Blair Athol.

Police lost sight of the Subaru momentarily but as they turned onto Anson Street they found it had crashed into a fence and the three occupants were attempting to flee the scene.

Western patrols chased the driver on foot and arrested him a short distance away. Police dogs PD Duke and PD Chaos searched the area but did not locate the other two suspects. Checks on the vehicle revealed it had been stolen from a Greenacres home sometime overnight between Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 March.

The driver, a 16-year-old Angle Park boy, has been charged with illegal use of motor vehicle, driving unlicenced and two counts of breach of bail. He was refused police bail but later bailed following a Magistrates review. He will appear at the Port Adelaide Youth Court on 10 August.
