Stolen Mercedes used petrol drive-off

Police are appealing for public assistance to help identify two people who stole a car in Elsternwick on 11 May.

The Mercedes was parked outside an Allison Street address when it was stolen sometime between 6.30pm on 11 May to 9am 12 May.

The vehicle, being driven by a man and woman at the time, was used to steal petrol from a Sydenham service station on 23 May.

Police located the Mercedes on 24 May after it was dumped in Sydenham.

The number plates had been stolen and been replaced with cardboard homemade number plates.

Police have released images of a man and woman they believe can assist with their enquiries.
