Stolen vehicle charges, South East

Two teenagers were charged in Brisbane yesterday after the theft of two cars in Hope Island during the early hours of Monday morning (September 28).

Police will allege a Ford Mustang and a Toyota Camry were stolen from a Cova Boulevard address.

The vehicles were sighted at Sargents Reserve at Eatons Hill overnight and were tracked to Chinhook Avenue in Everton Hills where the Mustang was abandoned after driving over a tyre deflation device.

It will be further alleged the driver then entered the accompanying Toyota Camry, which was followed to Spitfire Avenue in Strathpine, where it was also dumped.

The pair got into a third vehicle driven by a woman and were located at Grahams Road in Strathpine where all three were arrested.

A Mercedes SUV also stolen from Hope Island was found in a nearby creek.

A 17-year-old Strathpine boy has been charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and receive tainted property along with burglary and failure to appear.

A 16-year-old boy from Eatons Hill has been charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property and possessing dangerous drugs.

He has also been charged with burglary and commit an indictable offence.

They are both expected to front the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court this month.
