Following a string of sell-out shows across Australia in 2018 and 2019, Griffith Regional Theatre is proud to present My Life – the music and stories behind the songs and the man who is the legendary Billy Joel.
More than just a “Piano Man”, Billy Joel is a living legend of the music industry with a catalogue of hit songs spanning more than 50 years.
Local promoter Mark Macedone of Pristine Productions is responsible for bringing the show to Griffith.
“Anthony Mara, the star of this show, really brings Billy Joel to life in this show, telling fascinating stories behind his music, but also compelling stories behind the man himself,” said Mr Macedone.
“The band who plays alongside Anthony is also supremely talented, including local musician Robert Fattore, who is touring with the show and excited to be performing in his own home town.”
Acting Theatre Manager, Margaret Andreazza said, “We are delighted to bring this show back to Griffith. People loved it last time and we expect the reaction will be just as good this time around. Who doesn’t love a bit of Billy Joel music? He’s been around for such a long time that people of all ages will recognise and enjoy his music.”
“The show will include the journey of a remarkable career – the highs, the lows, his private and public life, family and relationships, but most importantly, the music.
“I grew up listening to songs such as Uptown Girl, New York State of Mind, We Didn’t Start the Fire and Piano Man and I personally am really looking forward to this show.”
My Life will be held at Griffith Regional Theatre on Saturday, 17 April 2021 and tickets are available now on the website (www.griffithregionaltheatre.com.au) or through the Box Office on 6962 8444.
