Streetscape upgrades take shape at Lalor Shopping Centre

The highly anticipated streetscape upgrade at Lalor Shopping Centre is ploughing ahead, with construction on May Road almost complete.

Visitors to the busy precinct are already enjoying the centre’s fresh new look, with recent improvements to Station and David Streets breathing new life into the much-loved shopping hub. The upgrades completed on David Street earlier this year included the installation of a new public toilet, an update to the roundabout at David Street and Station Street, a new vehicle turning circle at the David Street end of May Road and the creation of an inviting social space with new seating and paving.

The works underway on May Road will provide clear and safe access for shoppers to walk across May Road, between the Lalor Library and Peter Lalor Walk. New seats and social spaces have already been installed, and new paving and raised vehicle platforms are expected to be complete by the end of November.

This project is delivered by the City of Whittlesea, in partnership with the Victorian Government.
