Strike Force Raptor targets activities of Nomads OMCG, NSW

More than 10 members of the Nomads outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) have been issued consorting warnings following a proactive police operation in Sydney’s west.

As part of ongoing inquiries into the activities of the Nomads OMCG in Sydney’s west, the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor attended a restaurant on Sherwood Road, Merrylands West, about 9.45pm on Friday (8 November 2019).

Strike Force Raptor, assisted by Cumberland Police Area Command and South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad searched 11 men, who are members of the Nomads OMCG, and two women outside the restaurant.

During the searches, a 24-year-old man was allegedly found in possession of a white powder, believed to be cocaine.

He was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for possess prohibited drug.

The Macquarie Fields man is due to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Tuesday 3 December 2019.

Strike Force Raptor issued 13 consorting warnings and eight warning notices for participating in a criminal group.

Five vehicles were also inspected during the operation with four infringement notices issued for parking offences.

Strike Force Raptor was established in 2009 and conducts proactive investigations and intelligence-based, high-impact policing operations to prevent and disrupt conflicts, and dismantle any network engaged in serious organised criminal activity.
