Strike Force Vulcan officers have arrested a woman after their investigation into a scrub fire in Nollamara on Saturday, 2 December 2023.
It will be alleged about 8.20pm, the woman entered a vacant block approximately 600 square metres in size on Nollamara Avenue. The block, situated between occupied residential homes, was covered in dry grass and other small vegetation.
The woman allegedly set fire to the grass and watched the fire with no attempt to extinguish the fire or call Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
Luckily the fire self-extinguished before it reached nearby homes.
The 35-year-old woman from Doubleview has been charged with:
• Wilfully Light or Cause to be Lit a Fire Likely to Injure or Damage.
She is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 22 December 2023.
