Supercars tickets licence to thrill motorsport fans

  • Tickets on sale for Supercars event at Wanneroo Raceway from April 30 to May 1
  • Bunnings Trade Perth SuperNight one of only two night racing events
  • Event expected to attract thousands of motorsport enthusiasts to WA
  • All the thrills and spills of Perth’s Supercars Championship night round are a step closer for fans with tickets now on sale for the Bunnings Trade Perth SuperNight at Wanneroo Raceway.

Held from April 30 to May 1, 2022, the event is supported by the McGowan Government through Tourism WA and is one of only two Australian championship rounds to feature night racing.

Western Australia’s Brodie Kostecki and Jake Kostecki will compete against other top drivers such as Shane van Gisbergen, Chaz Mostert and Cameron Waters, to compete in the Perth Championship night round, which is currently the biggest motorsport event held in WA.

When WA last hosted the Supercars in 2019, thousands of motorsport fans raced to WA for the occasion, staying an average of more than four nights in WA accommodation and spending more than $5 million, supporting local businesses.

Live television broadcasts of the 2019 event attracted more than one million viewers around the nation. This year’s event is expected to attract similar numbers, providing a valuable vehicle to promote the State.

The Bunnings Trade Perth SuperNight event is part of the Repco Supercars Championships, a series of 13 racing events held throughout Australia featuring 25 drivers and 12 teams.

As stated by Tourism Minister Roger Cook:

“We are delighted to welcome the Supercars back to WA for what is sure to be an exciting, adrenaline-filled spectacle.

“Being able to host national drawcard events like this is a great step forward to boosting our tourism industry and reconnecting us with the rest of the country.

“This event will be a welcome addition for our events calendar, with fans guaranteed to get a buzz watching the supercars under lights at Wanneroo in April.

“I encourage people to book their Supercars tickets and stay longer in our State to discover more exciting WA experiences while they’re here.”
