Swanston Street assault, theft and criminal damage

Police are investigating an assault outside a licensed premises in the CBD last month.

Investigators have been told three unknown males approached a 19-year-old man outside a Swanston Street Premises about 4:40am on 11 January.

One of the men stole the victim’s mobile phone, before the second man damaged the door to the venue by removing it from the door frame.

The third man then assaulted the victim from behind.

The victim sustained injuries as a result of the incident.

All three men fled on foot towards Little Bourke Street.

The first man is perceived to be Pacific Islander in appearance with a solid build, approximately 188cm tall, medium brown-coloured hair, facial hair, and was wearing a green t-shirt, black pants, black sneakers, and had tattoo sleeves on both arms.

The second man is perceived to be Pacific Islander in appearance with a solid build, approximately 183cm tall with facial hair and tattoo sleeves on both arms.

He was wearing a backwards black cap, camo green t-shirt with a white emblem on the rear, denim blue jeans, white sneakers and a gold chain around his neck.

The third male is described as having a solid build, approximately 183cm tall, facial hair, and was wearing a black cap (backwards), white t-shirt, black pants, black sneakers, and had tattoo sleeves on both arms.

Police have released images of the men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
