Tasmania’s public services failing after 10 years of Liberals 06 September 2023

Tas Labor

After 10 years of a Liberal Government, every key public service in Tasmania is failing.

Our EDs are overwhelmed, the ambulance service is overwhelmed, and surgeries are being cancelled to prevent the whole system falling apart.

Paramedics are being rostered to the ramp, and there are reports that specialist “ramping wards” are being set up to cope with the massive backlog of patients needing treatment.

Our education results are the worst of any state, with nearly four in 10 Year 7 students not meeting expected reading levels.

The Liberals have cancelled hundreds of bus services a day, leaving passengers stranded.

Housing is more unaffordable than ever before, with people sleeping in cars and tents in numbers never seen before.

Power prices are up $500 for the average household, and businesses can’t access the power they need to expand their operations. The Premier is squandering 100 years of investment in the Hydro.

Meanwhile, the Premier is spending all his energy spruiking a new stadium.

After 10 years in office, the Liberals have run Tasmania’s essential services into the ground, with no plans to fix the problems they’ve created.
