Tasmanian Industry Roundtable

Peter Gutwein,Premier

Sarah Courtney,Minister for Health

The Tasmanian majority Liberal Government is working together with our State’s business community to ensure a coordinated approach is in place to meet the challenges presented by COVID-19.

Today we convened an Industry Roundtable, which provided an opportunity for business representatives to come together and discuss the current state of industry sectors as well as the potential challenges ahead.

Our Government has worked hard to build business confidence, attract investment, grow the economy and create jobs and it is important that we work closely with our industry sectors to maintain strong activity in our economy.

We are also working closely with the Federal Government as they develop their economic stimulus initiatives that will help support Tasmanian business and jobs.

It’s important to note we are well prepared in Tasmania to respond to the challenges of coronavirus, with a nation leading economy, which will help insulate us against the coming economic headwinds.

However, we are committed to working with business and industry to remain resilient and ensure jobs and livelihoods are protected.

We remind businesses experiencing challenges to contact the hotline established on 1800 440
