Tasmanian Trade Annual Action Plan 2023-24 released

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is delivering on our long-term plan to continue to build a stronger economy, with the Tasmanian Trade Annual Action Plan 2023-24 released today.

Tasmanian Businesses are kicking goals internationally and interstate, and this Liberal Government will always support emerging and established exporters to develop and thrive.

Premier and Minister for Trade, Jeremy Rockliff, said the Action Plan will deliver a coordinated, whole-of-government approach to trade activities.

“The Action Plan streamlines programs, services and engagement through Trade Tasmania, providing support to our businesses and associations on their trade journey,” the Premier said.

“This means building export capabilities, international trade marketing and developing export-ready connections for Tasmanian businesses seeking to grow trade in national and international markets.

The global market is a competitive and its important Tasmanian exporters are supported to navigate key trading markets.

Today, a Tasmanian defence industry delegation is in London and a food and beverage industry delegation is at Fine Food Fair in Sydney.

Each delegation is proudly showcasing Tasmania’s premium and very capable products and services.

“We are delivering on our what matters to Tasmanians by continuing to build a stronger economy, supporting local jobs and building on our premium brand,” the Premier said.

“Pleasingly, our plan is working with Tasmanian annual goods exports remaining at record highs, achieving a remarkable 29.4 per cent growth in the 2021–22 financial year, totalling $5.65 billion.

“This Liberal Government is delivering on our long-term plan to make Tasmania the best place to live, work and raise a family.”
