Teenage girl charged after theft of vehicles at Dubbo, NSW

A teenage girl has been charged with multiple offences following the alleged theft and damage of two vehicles in the state’s Orana Region.

Between 8am and 11am Sunday (11 August 2019), it is alleged the teenager, aged 15, stole a vehicle from a Dubbo address in the company of another juvenile male, aged 14.

It is alleged the teens failed to pay for fuel at a local petrol station, before committing numerous traffic offences and igniting the vehicle in Fairview Crescent at Dubbo.

Shortly later, the 15-year-old allegedly stole a second vehicle from a Wheelers Lane address and acquired a further two passengers, aged 16 and 17.

Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District located the vehicle following a collision near Armstrong Crescent at Dubbo.

All four occupants of the vehicle were located at a Lunar Avenue address. They were arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

The 15-year-old girl was charged with steal motor vehicle, damage property by fire, dishonestly obtain property by deception, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, not give particulars to owner of damaged property, drive recklessly, and never licensed person drive vehicle on road.

She was granted conditional bail at a Children’s Court yesterday (Monday 12 August 2019) and will reappear Monday 23 September 2019.

The 17-year-old boy was charged with breach bail and a separate offence.

He was granted conditional bail at a Children’s Court yesterday (Monday 12 August 2019) and will reappear Monday 16 September 2019.

The two boys, aged 15 and 16, were dealt with by way of caution.
