Teenager charged following pursuit in Mosman – North Shore PAC

A teenager will face court following a pursuit in Sydney’s North Shore area.

Just after 5am today (Sunday 26 November 2023), officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command attempted to stop a Toyota Hatchback and a white Mercedes hatchback on the Spit Road at Mosman.

When the vehicles failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated before the Toyota crashed into a guard rail near Pearl Bay Avenue, Mosman.

The driver of the Toyota – a 14-year-old boy – was arrested before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for minor injuries.

A short time later, police located the Mercedes and a red Mazda vehicle on Punch Street, Mosman, where the occupants of both vehicles were speaking to each other.

As the marked police vehicle approached them, the Mercedes allegedly collided with the police vehicle.

The driver of Mercedes – yet to be identified – left the vehicle on Spit Road and it was alleged he entered the red Mazda vehicle before it left the scene.

Further inquiries by detectives revealed that the silver Toyota hatchback and white Mercedes were both stolen at an address on Moruben Road, Mosman earlier this morning.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into this incident has commenced.

The driver of Toyota was later taken to Chatswood Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence people there, steal motor vehicle, police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly, and driver never licensed

He was refused bail to appear at a children’s court tomorrow (Monday 27 November 2023).
