Teens charged after stolen car tracked in Melbourne’s Northern Suburbs

Police have charged four teenage girls after a follow in Melbourne’s northern suburbs in an allegedly stolen car in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Investigators tracked an allegedly stolen vehicle on Flemington Road in North Melbourne about 12.30am.

Police followed the car through Carlton before it came to a stop on Queensbury Street.

Five girls were arrested at the scene.

A 16-year-old Deer Park girl has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, burglary and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

A 16-year-old Fitzroy North girl was charged with theft of motor vehicle and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

A 15-year-old Brookfield girl has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, burglary and two counts of obtaining property by deception.

They have been remanded to appear at a children’s court later today.

A 16-year-old Melton West girl was charged with theft of motor vehicle.

She will appear at a children’s court at a later date.

A 15-year-old girl from Fitzroy has been released pending summons.
