For people travelling from fire affected areas requiring transit accommodation both the Queanbeyan and Bungendore Showgrounds are available from 11.30 am Thursday 2 January to 4.30pm until further notice.
Both showgrounds have free basic accommodation options for people transiting through our region to help manage fatigue. No bookings are required and people using the sites are asked to be considerate of other users.
Please note the Showgrounds are also animal evacuation sites.
Queanbeyan Showground
Access for transit accommodation is via Glebe Avenue. Access for evacuated stock is via the Cooma Street entrance. If you have any enquiries please contact 6285 6999.
