Ten people charged following investigation into Western region drug supply – Strike Force Summit

Ten people have been charged with over 180 charges laid following an investigation into drug supply in the state’s Central West.

In September 2022, detectives attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District established Strike Force Summit to investigate the supply of drugs in Dubbo and the surrounding areas.

Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators – assisted by the Western Region Enforcement Squad and the Dog Unit – executed seven search warrants at homes in Dubbo and Wellington from 7am, yesterday (Tuesday 26 September 2023).

During the warrants, police seized four firearms, methylamphetamine, MDMA, heroin, cannabis, mobile phones, cash, and two motorbikes. The seized items will be forensically examined.

Police arrested eight men and two women who were all taken to Dubbo Police Station.

A 65-year-old man was charged with 127 drug supply and participate in a criminal group-related charges.

A 28-year-old man was charged with 21 counts of supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, fail to comply digital evidence access order direction, and organises/conducts/assists drug premises.

An 18-year-old man was charged with breach of bail.

All three men were refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Wednesday 27 September 2023).

A 56-year-old woman was charged with 15 counts of supply prohibited drug and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

A 51-year-old man was charged with possess prohibited drug, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, and found on/entering/leaving drug premises.

A 27-year-old man was charged with five counts of supply prohibited drug and acquire unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm.

A 30-year-old man was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, and found on/entering/leaving drug premises.

She was refused bail and appeared at Dubbo Local Court yesterday (Tuesday 26 September 2023), where she was given conditional bail to appear at the same court on

They all appeared at Dubbo Local Court yesterday (Tuesday 26 September 2023) and granted conditional bail with the woman to appear at the same court on Thursday 23 November 2023 and the three men on Thursday 12 October 2023.

A 39-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were issued court attendance notices for shoplifting and traffic-related offences.

The man is due to appear at Orange Local Court on Monday 23 October 2023, and the woman at Dubbo Local Court on Monday 6 November 2023.

A 29-year-old man was charged with firearm offences and was dealt with by the courts yesterday.

Orana Mid-Western Police District Crime Manager, Detective Chief Inspector Paul Stephens said the arrests are the result of an outstanding investigation by the criminal investigators based in Dubbo.

“We have listened to the concerns of the community regarding the supply of prohibited drugs and taken strong action by charging numerous community members with serious criminal offences,” DCI Stephens said.

Investigations have not finished, rather this is the start of an ongoing campaign against drug suppliers in the Dubbo community”, he said.
