Theft and deceptions – Altona meadows and Hoppers Crossing

Detectives from Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance to identify a man following a series of theft from motor vehicle and deceptions in Altona Meadows and Hoppers Crossing 25 June.

It’s believed about 10 vehicles were broken into between 2am and 6.30am in the vicinity of Queen Street and Roseberry Street, Altona Meadows.

A number of items were taken from the vehicles including wallets, cards, cash and GPS equipment.

A short time later the cards were used at two service stations, a convenience store and a supermarket in the Hoppers Crossing and Altona Meadows area.

Police have released an image of a man they are searching for following the incidents.

He is described as being perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 20s or early 30s, with brown hair and a beard.

At the time he was wearing a grey hooded Everlast jumper and blue pants.
