Theft, drug charges after ATM stolen from Mudgee, NSW

A man will face court next month charged over the theft of an ATM from a hotel in the state’s Central West.

About 4.40am on Thursday 5 March 2020, three people forced their way into a hotel on Inglis Street, Mudgee, and stole an ATM.

They left in a Nissan Pulsar sedan which had been stolen earlier that morning from Wellington; it was found about 12.30pm burnt-out on Nanima Village Road in Wellington.

Following inquiries, detectives attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District executed a search warrant on Pierce Street, Wellington, about 9.40am on Wednesday 11 March 2020.

During the search, detectives seized methylamphetamine, cannabis and clothing.

Following further investigation, a 34-year-old man was arrested at a home on Pierce Street, Wellington about 9.50am on Thursday 19 March 2020 and was taken to Wellington Police Station.

The man has now been charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company and steal, two counts of possess prohibited drug, and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Mudgee Local Court on Wednesday 22 April 2020.
