Theft of car and petrol in Coburg

Fawkner police are investigating following the theft of a car and subsequent theft of petrol in Coburg last month.

Investigators have been told a silver coloured Honda Civic was parked inside the yard of a business on McDonald Road on Monday 26 August when it was stolen about 7am.

It’s believed the car was stolen by an unknown man who was seen getting out of a late model blue Nissan Navara dual cab utility.

A short time later the stolen car attended a Newlands Road petrol station where the driver stole a quantity of fuel.

Investigators have released images of two men who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

Both men are perceived to be Caucasian in appearance.

The first man had brown hair and was wearing sunglasses, a black cap, black runners, grey tracksuit pants, and black hooded jumper with green markings and white writing down one sleeve.

The second man, who was a passenger in the car, had brown hair, was unshaven and wearing black cap with white writing and a black long sleeve fleece style jacket.

Anyone with information or who may recognise the men is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
