Theft of designer items in Balwyn North

Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after designer handbags, shoes and jewellery were stolen from a home in Balwyn North last month.

Detectives believe a man and woman gained access to the Balwyn Road home via a window on Monday 18 September just before 3pm.

Once inside the home the pair collected various designer brand items, believed to be worth around $60,000, and packed them in a suitcase.

The items stolen from the property include:

• handbags of various brands including Gucci, Celine, Bulgari and a Hermes Birkin bag,

• Hermes and Chanel shoes

• Dior sunglasses, and other select items from Fendi and Robert Vivier

• assorted jewellery from Bulgari, Graff, Hermes, Van Cleef Arpels, Tiffany and Dior

• a Dyson vacuum cleaner, and

• various specialty Lego kits.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of the man and woman in the hope someone will be able to identify them and provide information to police.

The woman is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 30 to 40-years-old, with blonde hair. She was wearing a grey top, white pants and carrying a black handbag.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 30 to 40-years-old, with a solid build. He was wearing a black hat, black hooded top, blue jeans and work boots.

Investigators have also released images of some of the stolen goods in the hope it will assist the investigation.
