Theft of wallet leads to deceptions

Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are hoping to identify a man following a number of deceptions across Melbourne last month.

The deceptions were committed after the victim, an 18-year-old Sandringham man, lost his wallet during a night out in Prahran on 15 November.

It was not until the victim was notified, by his bank, of some unusual spending that he realised his card was being used at several businesses to purchase food, clothing and cigarettes.

Detectives have released images of a man who they believe can assist with their investigation.

The man is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, 185cms tall and aged between 25-30 years.

He was dressed in a black singlet and black legging-style pants. He was also carrying a skateboard.

Anyone who recognises the man or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppervic.com.au.
