Third person charged after men wounded in knife attack, NSW

A third person has been charged after allegedly wounding two men during an altercation at Mt Druitt.

About 1.45pm (Tuesday 10 November 2020), police were called to The Avenue, Mt Druitt, after reports of a stabbing.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command attended the location where they found a 23-year-old man, suffering a laceration to his forehead, and a 19-year-old man with lacerations to his hand.

They were treated at the scene before being taken to Nepean Hospital in a stable condition, where the younger man required surgery.

A crime scene was established, and investigations commenced.

A short time later police located two teens – aged 17 and 14 – in a unit block on The Avenue. They have been charged and remain before the court.

Following investigations, officers yesterday (Wednesday 11 November 2020) arrested a 17-year-old teen at Mt Druitt Police Station.

He was charged with reckless wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, and affray.

He was refused bail and will appear in a children’s court today (Thursday 12 November 2020).
