Third teen charged with murder after stabbing in Riverstone

A third teenager has been charged with murder after a man was fatally stabbed in Sydney’s west last weekend.

Just after 12.30am on Sunday 24 May 2020, emergency services were called to a home on Langton Street, Riverstone, after reports of a home invasion.

Police have been told a group of at least five males entered the home and stabbed the male occupant, before fleeing.

Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command performed CPR on the 39-year-old man until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics, but he died at the scene.

Two women aged 34 and 42 were also in the home at the time.

The younger woman suffered minor injuries and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene. The older woman was uninjured.

Following a search of the surrounding area, two boys – aged 16 and 17 – were arrested and charged on Sunday 24 May 2020. They remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, a 17-year-old boy was arrested in Quakers Hill just before 9.15pm yesterday (Thursday 28 May 2020).

He was taken to Riverstone Police Station and charged with murder.

The teen was refused bail to appear at a children’s court today (Friday 29 May 2020).

Inquiries into the incident are continuing and police are still working to locate others allegedly involved.
