Three arrested after police vehicle rammed in East Bairnsdale

East Gippsland Criminal Investigation Unit detectives have charged three males after an allegedly stolen vehicle rammed police in East Bairnsdale on 1 May.

It’s alleged the stolen Nissan Patrol reversed into a police vehicle in Royal Court about 5.30am.

No one was injured during the incident.

A 17-year-old Black Hill boy has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, attempted theft of motor vehicle and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He has been remanded to appear at a Children’s Court on at a later date.

A 27-year-old Morwell man has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, attempted theft of motor vehicle, handle stolen goods, possess proceeds of crime, possess controlled weapon and drive whilst disqualified.

He has been remanded to appear before the Bairnsdale Magistrates’ Court on 2 May.

A 19-year-old Wendouree man has been charged with aggravated intentional exposure of police officer to risk by driving, damage to emergency service vehicle by reckless driving, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, drive in a manner dangerous, assault police, theft of motor vehicle, attempted theft of motor vehicle, state false name when requested.

He has been remanded to appear before the Bairnsdale Magistrates’ Court on 2 May.
