Three charged following Elsternwick aggravated burglary

Police have arrested three youths following an aggravated burglary in Elsternwick earlier today.

Investigators have been told offenders broke into a house on Gladstone Street about 5.25am and stole keys to three vehicles and credit cards.

The offenders then accessed a blue Volkswagen Tiguan, a silver Isuzu MU-X and a grey Audi Q5 wagon and drove them from the scene.

There were four people asleep in the property at the time and none were injured.

About 9am the Volkswagen and Audi were located parked in Brigalo Court, Keysborough.

The Volkswagen drove from Brigalo Court and onto Kingsclere Avenue where police successfully deployed tyre deflation devices.

The car was dumped in Parker Street and police arrested three youths nearby.

A 17-year-old boy from Pakenham has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, theft, handle stolen goods and other offences.

A 16-year-old boy from Carrum Downs has been charged with aggravated burglary, theft and other offences.

A 13-year-old boy from Doveton was charged with theft of motor vehicle and other offences.

All are currently in custody and are expected to face a bail justice this evening.
