Three charged today after fraud investigation

Detectives from the Fraud and Extortion Squad have charged three people today as part of an investigation into allegations of false imprisonment and threats to kill.

Five search warrants were executed this morning at properties in Craigieburn, Greensborough and Strathmore.

A 50-year-old Strathmore woman, a 24-year-old Greensborough man and a 24-year-old Craigieburn man have all been charged with kidnap/false imprisonment, threats to kill/threat to inflict serious injury, intentionally recklessly cause serious injury, intentionally recklessly cause injury and theft.

All three will face Melbourne Magistrates Court this afternoon.

A 27-year-old Greensborough man also arrested this morning remains in custody and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Last month a 36-year-old Princess Hill man was charged with the same offences in relation to the alleged incident.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on 8 October.

The five arrests follow a report to police about an alleged serious assault in Collingwood on Tuesday 9 July.
