Three more charged after two men assaulted at Blacktown, NSW

Two teenagers and a 33-year-old man are the latest to be charged in relation to a brawl in Sydney’s west earlier this month.

About 1.30am on Friday 10 January 2020, emergency services were called to a fast food outlet on Blacktown Road, Blacktown, after a man entered with serious injuries.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command attended and found an 18-year-old man suffering a stab wound to his left shoulder and extensive bruising to his face.

Another 18-year-old man was also allegedly assaulted before he was driven by a friend to Blacktown Hospital for treatment.

Police will allege the two men drove to St Martins Crescent, Blacktown, where they were confronted by up to 10 males, allegedly armed with a machete, a shovel, a baseball bat, an axe and a crowbar.

On Saturday 11 January 2020, police arrested an 18-year-old man outside a home in Cavendish Avenue, Blacktown.

On Thursday 16 January 2020 officers arrested a further two males, a 17-year-old and a 20-year-old, for their alleged roles in the brawl.

All three were charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, affray, armed with intent to commit indictable offence and malicious damage.

They were all refused bail.

Following further inquiries, about 9.30am on Friday 17 January 2020, investigators attended a home on Aldgate Street, Prospect and arrested a 33-year-old man.

The next day (Saturday 18 January 2020) at about 8.30pm, a 17-year-old boy attended Gosford Police Station and was arrested.

Another 17-year-old boy attended Blacktown Police Station today (Tuesday 21 January 2020) where he was also arrested.

The trio were charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, affray, armed with intent to commit indictable offence and malicious damage.

The older man was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Thursday 19 March 2020.

Both 17-year-olds were also refused bail to appear on Parramatta Children’s Court on Friday 21 February 2020 and Friday 28 February 2020, respectively.

The investigation into the alleged assault is ongoing and inquiries continue.
