Three new COVID-19 cases identified in Queensland

Queensland Health has today announced three new COVID-19 cases, bringing total cases to 1,092. None of the cases are currently considered to be a risk to the community.

Two crew members onboard a cargo vessel off the coast of Queensland who tested positive for COVID-19 will be transferred to Townsville University Hospital for treatment.

Queensland Health can confirm tests on the remaining crew are negative.

The cases add to a man in his 30s recently returned from Sydney who has tested positive while in hotel quarantine. He remains in hotel quarantine and is being managed by Gold Coast HHS.

There are currently nine active cases in Queensland.

The three women who were admitted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital after testing positive to COVID-19 late last month have all now been assessed and determined to no longer be infectious. Subsequently all three women have been discharged from hospital.

It is vital that anyone in Queensland, especially if you’ve been interstate in the last 14 days, gets a COVID-19 test if you develop symptoms, even if mild. Symptoms may include fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, loss of smell or taste, and fatigue.

There are testing facilities right across the state including GPs, fever clinics and pop up clinics. To find your nearest location, visit the Queensland Health website.

The Queensland Health website now includes detailed information by Local Government Area on the number of active and recovered COVID-19 cases, likely source of infection, age and gender breakdowns of cases and number of self-quarantine notices.
