Ticket To Play Program Keeping Kids Active

Tasmanian Government

A program helping more young people participate in sport is opening for a new round of vouchers.

The Tasmanian Government’s highly successful Ticket to Play program delivers two vouchers worth up to $100 each to eligible children for club membership fees.

Premier, Jeremy Rockliff, said our Government is delivering important cost of living relief and keeping kids active.

“We are investing $4.9 million over four years to Ticket to Play, supporting Tasmanian children to put down their devices and take up a sport,” the Premier said.

“The program has proved popular, with the 2025-26 round having the largest uptake of vouchers since the program began in 2019.

“Over 15,000 vouchers were redeemed in the 2025-26 round, which was a 16 per cent increase from 2024-25.

“Last year, vouchers were used at 54 different activities, including futsal, roller derby, skate, squash and orienteering.

“Applications for the 2025-26 round came from all around Tasmania, with recipients in 110 different postcodes receiving vouchers.

“Our Ticket to Play program is making a genuine difference in the lives of so many young Tasmanians.

“Under our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we are delivering more access to social and sporting opportunities than ever before.

“I am pleased to see the next round of applications opening, so we can continue to get our young people into the sport or activity of their choice.”

Ticket to Play applications open on Monday 6 July 2026 and close on Friday 28 May 2027. Learn more at www.tickettoplay.tas.gov.au
