Transport just ticket for Perth Glory grand final

  • Perth Glory fans should make Transperth their game plan for A-League grand final
  • Hundreds of extra special event bus and train services to be mobilised
  • Transperth travel included in tickets for three hours each side of the event
  • More than 50,000 tickets already sold to Optus Stadium grand final
  • Football fans heading to the Perth Glory v Sydney FC A-League grand final at Optus Stadium on Sunday (May 19) should make Transperth a key part of their game plan.

There will be hundreds of extra special event bus and train services, with travel for three hours before and after the game included in event tickets.

This will be the first time an A-League match has been played at Optus Stadium. With a record-breaking crowd now expected to attend, the highest level of public transport will be mobilised to meet demand.

Depending on the service, special event suburban buses – including the new 655 Kalamunda service – will operate on a five to 10 minute frequency from about 1.45pm. The CBD shuttle will run on a five-minute frequency from about 2pm. On the way home, special event buses will run for one hour after the final whistle.

Trains stopping at Stadium Station will leave Perth Station approximately every seven minutes from 12pm. Special event trains will be running from Stadium Station to get football fans home, or they can cross the Matagarup Bridge and take advantage of the safe drop-off and pick-up point in East Perth.

Fans are encouraged to check the Transperth JourneyPlanner or app and plan their trip ahead of time, leaving plenty of time to reach their destination.

Detailed event-specific travel information is available on Transperth’s website.

As stated by Transport Minister Rita Saffioti:

“It has been an incredible year for Perth Glory, and this Sunday’s A-League Grand Final will have an electric atmosphere.

“We worked early with FFA to ensure we had the right transport options in place for this week’s game.

“Many Glory supporters would be used to accessing HBF Park, so I urge all Glory supporters to plan ahead for the big game and access our special bus and train services to Optus Stadium.

    “And of course, Go Glory!”

As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray:

“This will be one of the most exciting events held at Optus Stadium so far and it’s fantastic the inaugural A-League match at the stadium is also a grand final.

“The support behind the Perth Glory is enormous and more than 50,000 tickets to the grand final have already been sold.

“If last week’s game is anything to go by, this weekend’s grand final between Perth Glory and Sydney FC will be an absolute thriller.

“I encourage as many people as possible to come to the first A-League game at Optus Stadium and be part of the biggest ever crowd at a Western Australian football match.”
