Trio Charged With Total Of 60 Property-related Offences

Three people have been charged with property-related offences in the Riverina under Operation Regional Mongoose.

Operation Regional Mongoose is a high-visibility police operation to tackle serious property-related crime committed predominately by young offenders.

About 3.45am, on (Tuesday 12 December 2023), police were called to a house on Kentucky Place, Gobbagombalin, about 5.5km north-east of Wagga Wagga, following reports of a break and enter.

Police will allege three males, entered the home and stole a backpack and car keys, before taking a Subaru Liberty from the street.

Around 11pm on Wednesday 21 February 2024, a 26-year-old man was arrested at a home in Ashmont.

He was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station and charged with 19 offences, including seven counts of aggravated break and enters, 12 counts of enter land with intent to steal and one count of carried in conveyance.

About 7am on (Friday 1 March 2024), police attended a home in Ashmont, arresting a 15-year-old boy.

He was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station and charged with 20 offences, including seven counts of aggravated break and enters, 12 counts of enter land with intent to steal and one count of carried in conveyance and breach of bail.

Both remain before the courts.

Yesterday (Tuesday 12 March 2024), police attended a juvenile justice centre in Turvey Park and arrested a 16-year-old boy.

He was charged with 21 property offences, including seven counts of aggravated break and enters, 12 counts of enter land with intent to steal and one count of carried in conveyance and never held person drive vehicle.

He was refused bail to appear in a children’s court on (Tuesday 19 March 2024.)

Police will allege the vehicle was used to commit multiple break and enters in North Wagga Wagga, Lake Albert, Ashmont and San Isidor.
