Truck & Forklift Drivers top Aussie Post’s Christmas Wish List

Australia Post

Australia Post is looking to recruit around 3,000 seasonal casuals as it ramps up operations in the lead up to Christmas. This year’s seasonal recruitment drive is focused on finding people with specific skills, experience and licenses.

Top of Australia Post’s wish list are applicants with a valid forklift or truck licence. Seasonal casual roles are also available for freight handlers and parcel processers across the delivery network. Australia Post is getting prepared ahead of what is expected to be a busy cyber sales period and in the lead up to Christmas.

Roles are available across all States and Territories, however New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland have the highest demand for seasonal casuals.

Susan Davies, Executive General Manager People and Culture highlighted the critical role that seasonal casuals play in helping Australia Post ensure deliveries reach customers in time for the holiday period.

“As we approach our busiest time of year, we’re looking to bolster our workforce to ensure we can meet increased demand and maintain the high level of service Australians expect from Australia Post.

“We’re looking for seasonal casuals to work alongside our existing team members and would love to hear from people who have a valid forklift or truck license, as well as people looking to work in parcel processing, deliveries and freight handling.

“Working at Australia Post offers team members the opportunity to be a part of a great, supportive team and help to spread the Merry this Christmas. Working in a seasonal casual role can also create opportunities to work with Australia Post beyond the end of the year. We have many team members who initially joined us as a seasonal casual and are still part of our team many years later,” Ms Davies said.

Australia Post is proud to have one of Australia’s most diverse workforces, and employs people of all ages, background and abilities to reflect the communities it serves around the country.
