Tune in: Keep your valuables safe

Keep your bag safe when you’re walking to and from school or work.

Offenders will take any opportunity to steal your valuables, even out in public.

Tune into these safety tips and keep your valuables secure

  • Wear your bag securely across your body where possible and avoid carrying it.
  • Always keep your bag closed.
  • Avoid carrying large amounts of cash in your bag.
  • Never leave your bag or valuables unattended.
  • Keep a record of your bag and the valuables you keep inside of it as proof of ownership.
  • If not using a bag, store other valuables out of sight in pockets.

Police take all reports of criminal behaviour seriously and we urge anyone who has experienced threats, assault or robbery while at home or out and about to make a report.

Part of the Queensland Police Service ‘Tune into your surroundings’ initiative.
