We’re installing bollards along the footpath from Tunstall Road to the front of the shopping strip, to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility at Tunstall Square Shopping Centre.
When will the works happen?
Works will begin in early January 2024 and will take approximately two weeks to complete. This schedule is subject to change due to weather and programming.
What will be achieved?
We will install safety bollard along the shopfronts between 8 and 25 Tunstall Square, and 37 to 43 Tunstall Square.
- The bollards will better separate vehiclesfrom shopfront pedestrian activity.
- They will protect against vehicles accidentally mounting the footpath while parking.
- The spacing is designed to have one bollard per car space, which is typical for these installations.
What should I expect?
There will be temporary disruptions to some parking spaces while we install nearby bollards. We will work in small sections to minimise any impact on centre users. Please keep alert for construction and move safely through the area while works are underway.
