After two very challenging years for the tourism industry, some of our local tourism businesses are eagerly counting down to the Victorian Tourism Awards Gala Ceremony on 3 February.

Running for 30 years, the esteemed Victorian Tourism Awards rewards excellence, innovation, industry professionalism and collaboration. Nearly 200 entries are submitted every year across the 31 categories available in Victoria.

It will come as no surprise to Peninsula locals that our region has been recognised with 12 nominations. Finalists include:

  • Carmel of Sorrento
  • Grape Explorations Australia
  • Green Olive at Red Hill
  • Hawkes Farm
  • Hop It
  • Jimmy Rum
  • Mornington Boat Hire
  • MP Regional Tourism Board
  • Peninsula Hot Springs
  • Pt Leo Estate
  • Red Hill Candle Co
  • Searoad Ferries.

Quote attributable to Mayor Councillor Anthony Marsh:

“The Victorian Tourism Awards are highly competitive with many businesses from across the state competing. Winners will progress to the Australian Tourism Award. Best of luck to all our fantastic local finalists!”
