Police have arrested two men following a lengthy investigation into an alleged suspicious fire that destroyed a business in Caulfield last year.
Emergency services were called to a fire at a fast-food store on the corner of Glen Huntly and Hawthorn Roads about 4.30am on Friday 10 November 2023.
The building was destroyed, and investigations revealed the fire was deliberately lit.
Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested at 27-year-old man at an apartment on Belsize Avenue, Carnegie, about 9.15am on Wednesday 31 January.
A 25-year-old man was then arrested in Werribee Street, Dallas, about 11am.
He was taken to hospital under police guard for injuries unrelated to today’s arrest.
Both men are currently assisting police with enquiries, and arson-related charges are expected to be laid.
